About Me

About Embassy13.....
Marc say's: "I write for fun, am self taught (does this show?!) & enjoy throwing a handful of chords, beats, and guitars together, adding a few synths, some vocals and seeing what we have left at the end!
I spent years scribbling down lyrics and words and realised that I was slowly building a kind of musical scrapbook of my life. Just a place I could go, and document my life, or the life I was watching unfold around me, in words, and in music.
If in doing this I've written something that has touched someone else's life in any way, or taken someone's train of thought to a place we've all been, or may yet get to, then it will have been worth it tenfold.
I know the effect music has on my life. Lyrics or songs all lend themselves to moments in my time here that help me to look back at, and remember with a smile, or a tear. Hopefully, something in one one my own songs will give a little something back to someone, somewhere.
If this is the case (or even if not!) then please post me a comment. Your words are appreciated.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/embassy13
Band Members:None really as it's just me - writing for the heck of it, and nothing more, although I've definitely utilised the talents of many of the great artists that I'm lucky enough to have met, known and worked with through the years! - you know who you are, and you have my heartfelt thanks... o:)

Music is my life, and my passion, but it's not a career choice. I write because I love it, I dabble in a little production for a handful of unsigned artists and friends, and produce because I love it. I perform very rarely.... campfire tales of '92 anyone? A few fireside jams, parties, and the odd not very packed pub backroom belting out a couple of tunes quite possibly out of ... well..... .... lets use 'tune / time / this world / bounds / his mind' ...... - delete as appropriate!

Most of all, I do all this because it's fun, a release from the real world, and makes you realise how good music can make you feel, and how important it is in our everyday lives...

You realise this the more you look around places like myspace - how much good music there is out there... it rocks!

C'mon people.... keep up the good work!

Influences: ......... loves, likes, inspirations, influences and hates!

100s of em ....

* Cue soft focus and dreamy harp music......

Sounds Like: I suppose having grown up in the same neck of the woods as Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack, Reef, Kosheen, K-Passa, and The Wurzels, there's probably a little of all of those inspirations in what I do now.

But not at the same time though... that really would be quite unpleasant .... eeew - Kosheen re-mixed by The Wurzels - nasty thought. Stop it right now!

Thanks to Oli Langford (http://www.myspace.com/olilangford) for the live strings (Violin & Cello) on "Moving On"

Richie Wermeling (http://www.richie-wermeling.com) for vocals on "Moving On" and final production overhaul! Nice one fella....
