I love the beach, like to travel, and meet new friends. I like horseback riding, my pets (4 dogs, 1 is part wolf, but the chihuahuas are the ones to watch out for and 2 cats) amusement parks (yeah adrenaline rushes!), reading, and soak in my spa with a good margarita. I love music, go to concerts, comedy shows and dancing. I just bought a timeshare in Hawaii, my new favorite place to visit, til I find some place I like better..."http://www.../horsething/index.htm"
I'd love to meet Maya Angelou, she inspires me.... Robin Williams...he never fails to make me laugh.... Anyone who is fun and intelligent to talk to. I love making new friends, and never turn down the opportunity to make new ones.

I love going to concerts. The last one I went to was Dave Matthews Band in Carson CA. Other recent concerts, Harry Connick Jr, Earth Wind and Fire, Cyndi Lauper, Rod Stewart, Prince (three times), No Doubt and Cher. I love the 80's dance music, but I like a lot of the new music too. Prince rules! New Order, B52's, Berlin, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Thompson Twins and Depeche Mode are some of my old favorites. New friends are Maroon 5, Matchboxtwenty, Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, Kelly Clarkson, some Nelly, 3 Doors Down, Nora Jones...I could keep going.... Did I mention Prince rocks?
Comedies are my favorites... Gotta love Mel Brooks... History of the World Part I, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles. Other favorites: Caveman, Auntie Mame, most of the Pink Panther movies (anything Peter Sellers for that matter) Steve Martin movies, "I was born a poor black child" "Into the mud scum queen!" Robin Williams... Mrs Doubtfire..ahhhhhhI like all genres of movies, with the exception of slashers. I'm not into getting the bejeebers scared out of me...altho I do love a good classic horror movie....
My ex-husband once walked through the livingroom and caught me watching Looney Tunes and shook his head and said "brilliant minds are easily amused". Maybe he was smarter than I gave him credit for? I love old tv comedies like "I Love Lucy". I also like current shows like The Office and My Name is Earl. My new favorite show is Grey's Anatomy and after that Desperate Housewives, even though it's all too make believe for words (how could that many anorexic perfect women all live on the same block? I think not)... I like CSI, ER, NCIS, Las Vegas (yes it's inane, but still fun and you never know who's gonna show up as a guest),
I've read most of Stephen King's books, love James Michener, John Grisham, Patricia Cornwell and Michael Crighton. One of my favorite authors is Terry Pratchett, who wrote the Discworld series. I also enjoy Anne McCaffrey, Alan Dean Foster, Mercedes Lackey, Piers Anthony and Anne Rice. Let's face it...I love to read and I'll read almost anything...dang I've even read most of Tom Clancy's books, I just skipped most of the technical stuff. I read my Tolkiens again for the umpteenth time last year, can't count how many times I've read them since high school.
My hero was my grandmother. She had a 2nd grade education, got married at 15 and moved to California in 1922 from West Texas when she was 16. When the depression hit, and people started turning up looking for work in the "golden" land of California she fed anyone that needed to be fed. She worked in the fields and on ranches in the central valley for 35 years with my grandfather and adopted 2 boys and raised them. She was vain, and stubborn and had the attention span of a 3 year old and never knew how to end a sentence, it just kept going with an "and" or a "then". She was the ultimate hostess, always could bake up a mess of "company biscuits" or a cobbler when someone stopped by. Nobody ever left HER house with an empty stomach. She didn't believe in "idling" and could never understand why I'd rather read a book than clean house. She lived to be 93 and I still miss her...My other hero was my grandfather for putting up with my grandmother for 63 years without a cross word, for learning how to turn down his hearing aid when she wouldn't shut up and for pretty much being a saint....I wish I was as tough as they were...
