Do you see a cup, or are you merely reviewing your past experiences of picking up a cup, being thirsty, drinking from a cup, feeling the rim of a cup against your lips, having breakfast and so on? Are not your aesthetic reactions to the cup, too, based ..xperiences? How else would you know whether or not this kind of cup will break if you drop it? What do you know about this cup except what you learned in the past? Perhaps from Mom and Dad no less. You would have no idea what this cup is, except for your past learning. Do you, then, really see it?Look about you. This is equally true of whatever you look at. But this takes on even more importance when you look at past relationships and friendships, or hard times as well as good times. You have given these things all the meaning they have for you. You see only the past. Let go! It's not easy to do initially. At least not for everyone, but this is the start to living in the PRESENT. And who doesn't want that? There is a freedom in letting go in the past. If he or she hurt you...guess what...love them anyway. That doesn't mean you have to go out and have "lunch" with them. You know the truth, and the real truth is simply that only love is real. We are made of love the Universe/God is love and we inherit this automatically. Similar to the very successful and popular “Various Artists†compilation albums with Pop tracks ranging from Punk Rock to Techno to R&B I’ve written, produced, and performed a few songs which are here on my myspace music page * www.myspace.com/mikegogetter * for you, and I’ve gotten awesome responses from all over the world in fact. Some in the music industry who have openly enjoyed or thought well of my music have, however, mistaken my concept for an identity crisis as if I didn’t know what genre of music I wanted to undertake. In the past it has caused managers and possible collaborators to shy away, perceiving working with me as a risk. They have not seen the bigger picture. Confusion is not the case here. Especially when you consider how we all are multifaceted, or third dimensional if you will. We get into different moods at different times, we change and evolve constantly, and it’s no wonder compilation CD’s such as the “NOW That’s What I Call Music†albums do incredibly well. And it’s our iPods that tend to mimic these compilation CD’s. My music is brilliant Pop music, and while it is Pop it also remains sophisticated. In other words it is not disposable…neither am I. More important to understand is that with me you are “buying†a personality. It is this in fact (even more than the fact that we are multifaceted people) that makes my concept “buyableâ€, makes it work, and makes it marketable. I don’t intend to have a short career once it takes off. I will be a tall standing musical presence remaining indestructible for years to come. Watch me! My much mentioned first album concept is also my way of remaining true to myself and people as I’m giving you exactly what I am from the start … … … What confusion!? My short term intent is to meet with people in the industry that have the ability to see and share my vision, and who see the bigger picture. …People who have a sense of humor, who can get high on the goodness of life, who can get high on my essence and I theirs (can we vibe?), who aren’t bound to restrictions, who share the dreams and visions that which I (we) intend to make very real. All that I have accomplished thus far is with purpose and relevance. I am a Singer, Song Writer, Dancer, Choreographer, Producer…I am an Artist. I’m ballsy, articulate, a visionary, curious, intelligent, a warrior, impeccable with words, confident, open minded, a risk taker…just to name a few attributes. Some of which much of the world will get a high on. But I am not ego driven. In fact I have a great deal of heart which only adds to the “Artist.†Working with people who can help and contribute to build me in the industry is necessary and important. It was short notice and with only 2 days to come up with a concept, some choreography, and something for a costume I was able to pull off this performance of "Go Getter." They loved it! The dancing, the energy... I had the crowd in the palm of my hand and they cheered every step. CBGB's sadly shut down after being around for so long and establishing itself as a legendary hot spot where unkowns who are now Super Stars have played including: Madonna, Bon Jovi, The Ramones, and Blondie just to name a few.
