I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a Tour Manager/Co-ordinator with extensive experience working on the road in a number of capacities.I worked on the original Paul Simon Graceland Tour and subsequently spent five years recently working as a Tour Manager, both times employed by singer Miriam Makeba. In between, I studied Tour Management, Booking and Arts Management at Birkbirk College, University of London, and worked in arts administrative capacities at a theatre in London.Currently working on future plans with Reykjavik to Rotterdam, my favourite way to relax is to dance until I drop!

My Interests

Living well! Travel; Music; Cinema; Theatre; Good food; Dancing; Books; Africa; Iceland; being on tour!

I'd like to meet:

People interested in artistic production generally, particularly music, theatre, dance, film and literature.

Music:

I like many different types of music, especially if it makes me feel like dancing, singing, protesting - with no particular order regarding which! Current song: "In The Morning" Nina Simone.

Movies:

Almodovar, Tarantino, "Buena Vista Social Club", "8 Women", "Strictly Ballroom", "Like Water for Chocolate", "Million Dollar Baby", "Hidden", "Comme Une Image", "Sideways", "Delicatessen", "Little Miss Sunshine" - quirkily life-affirming. "Tais toi" - stupid French crime caper well rendered.

Television:

I don't have a tv. Here is my narcissistic input to the genre (including a couple of ads).

Books:

Edward St Aubyn; John Haskell - freaky! powerful! awesome in his projected introspection! don't know if I'd want him in my immediate environment, but LOVE his writing!; Toni Morrison; "A Little Stranger" Kate Pullinger; Janet Evanovich; "Lunar Park" Bret Easton Ellis; Terry McMillan; Paul Auster; A.M. Homes; Anita Shreve; "A New Earth" Eckhardt Tolle; Zadie Smith; Malcolm Gladwell; Po Bronson; Siri Hustvedt.

Heroes:

Myself, for having traversed the trials of 2006 and finally, joyfully, still alive and in a more peaceful place. My father, for maintaining a sanguine and personable temperament in spite of having been rendered physically disabled by a rogue surgeon, and now being labelled "legally blind".My mother, for teaching me that to protect and defend others is to take care of oneself.Mme Miriam Makeba, for all that she has extended to me personally, plus that which she has given to the world generally. My friend's son Rafe, 9/11 firefighter.Blessings to one and all, dead or alive.
