What Would Superman Do?

About Me

My name is Norman McCay. I am a small town preacher who was shown a vision by The Spectre, the instrument of God's Judgement. The Spectre showed me a world where the heroes of our age had gone away. There was a great calamity, and the world was nearly destroyed.

That world, that KINGDOM COME, is something that has haunted me for over a decade. I hope the things I have seen do not come to pass... for all our sake. So I dedicated myself to the mission of spreading the gospel of our greatest hero: Superman. I have founded this church (congregation, mission, or way, if you prefer) to remind others of what he stands so that the legacy of his work will never be forgotten.

I want his message to live on, so that in time of need other heroes may arise and ask themselves "What Would Superman Do?"

He was sent by his father in the heavens
to be a savior to the people of Earth.

He died at the hands of Doomsday,
but rose from the dead.
He lives again, a beacon of hope for all eternity.

Faster than a speeding bullet,
more powerful than a locomotive,
able to leap over tall buildings in a single bound.

He fights for truth, justice, and the American Way.

His name is Kal-El.
We call him Superman.
He is the Last Son of Krypton.

I'd like to meet:

We open our doors to all people who are interested in the way of the Last Son of Krypton. Kal-El teaches us by example to be the best we can be. He preaches love of our fellow man, self-sacrifice, and helping others through good works.

Music:

Our hymns of praise for the Last Son of Krypton come from all over the globe. A few of our favorites include: "Superman's Song" by Crash Test Dummies, "Waitin' for a Superman" by The Flaming Lips, and "If I Were Superman" by Dweller .

Movies:

Superman: The Movie and Superman II (Richard Donner Cut) are our favorite versions of the Last Son's story. The new film Superman Returns is an excellent continuation of that story, albeit not canon with our beliefs.

Television:

We appreciate the story of the Last Son in all forms, from the early Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves, to Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman starring Dean Cain. Although less and less canon with each passing season, the current CW series Smallville starring Tom Welling is a nice story of the Last Son's formative years and a good way to introduce him to young people.

Books:

The canon scriptures of the Last Son include the continuing adventures in Action Comics, Superman, and Superman/Batman. The story of his early ministry has most recently been retold in the excellent collection Superman: Birthright by Mark Waid.
