MAXIMUM BLUESWALTZ

About Me

In the spring of 1994, after the biggest rock-concour of Belgium, HUMO wrote: ' pee wee DOPA had a great sound, but it turned out to be the Nirvana-sound.' A few weeks later Kurt was dead. In those dark rockdays, Eric Vandepoel, also a lefthanded singer-songwriter with an old Fender Jaguar, met the 16-year old Bernd Adams, a brilliant multi-instrumentalist. A non-conformistic attitude, black coffee and a mutual Jimi Hendrix-fixation formed the basis of an instant musical friendship. In 1999, after a trip to Tierra del Fuego, EV wrote a song about Puerto Almanza, a marinebase on the Argentinian side of the Beagle channel. Late 2003, after dozens of demo's, recorded in BA's studio '1978' , the Third Man showed up. Bernard "Bernie" Vanhecke , the drummer with a contagious ADHD-drive of the late 'Dead Souls' was looking for the fastest, tightest and loudest band who could regenarate 'the ultimate ride'. On a good day, ALMANZA live are the Who without Daltrey, and in Pete's place a twisted 'Rory Gallagher of the Low Lands'. They call it Maximum Blueswaltz. Minimi is Belgian. And ALMANZA?
