EVISCERATE were born in 1996 in Brescia, in northern Italy.For about one year we played many gigs performing only old Metallica songs, under the monicker of "Take Death". Nevertheless, when we began to write our own songs, we rapidly changed the monicker to the actual one - while the line-up has remained the same over eight long years: Mario Monteverde on guitar & vocals, Nicola Panteghini on guitar & backing vocals, Alessandro Todeschini on the drums, Giancarlo Gaia on bass guitar.1998 is the year of the first - untitled - demo-cd: not a bad production for those years, and for the young guys we were (Mario 17, Nicola 18, Ale and Giancarlo 19). The songs, that were quite bare and immature at that time, are still performed live today with some substantial rearrangements.2001 sees a little turning point towards a more "scandinavian" and heavy sound with the second cd, "Eviscerate". This is still an independent self-production, very well reviewed by specialized press and equally well received from the audience. We've sold about 400 copies of it, and a reissue is planned. The artwork of both these cds is by Marco Bertoglio, an old date friend of ours, who also conceived and recorded the intro track for the second cd "Eviscerate", designed our T-shirts (they're now sold out, but we're planning to make new ones soon ... as soon as we got the money!), our big live banner and innumerable concert leaflets. As to the lyrics, they're mostly about personal feelings, and are written by Mario, Nicola and Giancarlo.In 2003, as third release, we self-recorded a 1-track MiniCd to promote a new song called "Stolen Heartbeats", which is soon going to reappear in the new...... 2004 "Shadows Out Of Time". This 4 tracks CD has been recorded in May 04 at "Nadir Studios", Genova, with the help of Tommy, ex guitar player of a well known italian band called Sadist. He did a very hard and good work! It sounds better, harder, and louder than anything we've recorded before.This release represents a real turning point for our band: it's the result of three years of writing and live acting, and proves the new conception of "heavy metal" that we've reached. In this cd you can find "Invasion", the 2nd Eviscerate composition, in its final and definitive version, and three new songs, "Stolen Heartbeats", "Existence", and "What Was Once ... is Nevermore". Here we've tried to make a convergence between our own individual musical backgrounds - as we always did - , mixing melodies and dissonances, quiet rhytms and outbursts of thrash, middle-growls/screams and clean harmonized vocals. As said before, the production is extremely better and the sound quality at last gives to the songs the real power they deserve.The author of the cd artwork is the bass player Giancarlo who, at the same time, is the developer of this website. During these years we've taken our personal way of death/thrash metal all around Italy and also in some foreign countries like Belgium and Austria, building up a good roster of contacts with bands, fanzines, supporters and friends - without whom we could not survive!
