About Me

Nicholas Browne began his studies on the double bass with Jeffrey Grubbs of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in 2002. In the summer of 2004, Mr. Browne attended Brevard Music Center, where he began his studies with Paul Johnson. During his senior year of high school, Mr. Browne worked with both Jeffrey Grubbs and Jeffrey Turner, the Principal Bassist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. That summer Mr. Browne toured Europe as the Principal Bassist of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Browne began his undergraduate studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore with Paul Johnson, studying there from 2005-2006. Mr. Browne is now a sophomore at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, studying with Jeffrey Turner. Previous orchestral appointments include Principal Bass of Duquesne Universitys City Music Center Chamber Orchestra, Section Bass of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Bass of the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra.
