About Me

Grammy Nominee, producer, songwriter and musician Troy Sneed created the Emtro Gospel label in 2003 after being an integral part of the success of the Georgia Mass Choir and others by way of Emtro Productions, which formed in 1990. Emtro Productions was the production unit for the successful Georgia Mass Choir titles such as I Sing Because Im Happy (1992); Lord Take Me Through (1995); They That Wait (1999) and I Owe You The Praise(2002).A recording artist in his own right, Troy Sneed had two solo records released by Savoy/Malaco Records where he got his training in the business. In addition, Sneed also worked on the Academy Award nominated soundtrack and appeared in the 1996 Disney hit movie The Preachers Wife featuring an all star cast of Courtney B. Vance, Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston and others.Since 2003 Emtro Gospel has been the new kid on the block determined to make an impact in the Gospel Music Industry and what an impact! After a couple of short years the label garnered a nomination for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year via the 37th Annual GMA (Dove) Music Awards with the song All Night from the CD You Deserve My Worship by Alvin Darling & Celebration; in 2005 Emtro Gospel celebrated three Billboard Gospel Chart releases including a top five position for the CD Right Place by Pastor Rudolph McKissick, Jr. Further to the labels growing success is its impact on Gospel radio with four Billboard/R&R radio hit singles over the past twelve months till now. The labels consistent weekly BDS detections on current titles has produced an average weekly label share of 3% making Emtro Gospel a top 10 label in Gospel radio airplay week end and week out according to Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems! This is just Chapter 1 for Emtro Gospel stay tuned for Chapter 2.
The year of 2007 is beginning as nicely for Troy Sneed as 2006 ended. The energetic singer is enjoying his first Top 5 Billboard Hot Gospel song as a soloist with the rousing praise tune, “Hallelujah.” The song is the lead single from Sneed’s latest cd, “In His Presence” (Emtro Gospel) which is currently 31 on Soundscan’s praise and worship album sales chart.Meanwhile, Sneed has also netted his first Soul Train Music Award nomination for Youth for Christ’s 2006 smash, “The Struggle is Over.” The song, written by Jonathan Nelson & Justin Savage, spent a dozen weeks at 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart last year and also won a Stellar Award as Best Children’s Recording of the Year. Sneed and Nelson lead the song with backing by a choir of youth hailing from the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. region. It is nominated alongside tunes by Kirk Franklin, the Caravans and Bishop G.E. Patterson. The awards will be announced March 10, 2007 at a ceremony at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium outside of Hollywood, CA.Sneed and his wife, Emily, are the founders of Emtro Gospel, which has now enjoyed a half dozen Top Ten gospel radio hits in the last two years with songs such as “All Night” (Alvin Darling & Celebration) and “The Right Place” (Rudolph McKissick) among others.
