* Music events in the midwest, southern & southeast U.S. and home of the MASQUE & VEIL DARK MUSIC FESTIVAL- a growing lineup of notable live artists & DJs over three nights each fall.
HISTORY-
2005: Masque & Veil was first produced as a masquerade ball to celebrate the anniversary of The Dark Room- a weekly night of dark alternative music (Gothic, Industrial, etc.). The masquerade ball was a tremendous success, marking the largest event of the year in the area.
2006: As regional awareness of dark music grows, Masque & Veil returns, this time an event lasting two nights, incorporating the masquerade plus an evening of acclaimed live performers- Voltaire, The Last Dance, Spider Lilies, and Razorwire Halo. Support grows with retailers in the area (signing party, newspaper coverage, etc.).
2007: The 2007 festival had the largest lineup to date, with performers, guests, DJs and attendees from the across the U.S. The lineup featured The Last Dance, Abney Park, Ego Likeness, Man + Machines, Spanking Machine, Razorwire Halo and Vessels of Wrath featuring acclaimed DJs Annabel Evil, Eternal Darkness, Kaleidoscope, Morbid Kitty, End: the DJ, Infam0us and so many more. The weekend closed with an all-star performance from members of The Last Dance, Abney Park and Ego Likeness covering The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog"!
NOW: Masque & Veil has grown to form its own entities under M & V Events, continuing to co-produce & coordinate select events in the mid-southland and Eastern U.S. (AR, MO, OK, NC). M & V now books bands & DJs for select shows. The next Masque & Veil annual event in 2008 will be three nights of celebration with the annual Masquerade Ball!
