Beautiful Flowing Sonic Spaces

About Me

My music is available for purchase from Snocap for $1.30 per composition as a MP3 file at the resolution of 256kbps.
During my performances I create warm harmonic sonic spaces and combine them with processed acoustic instruments and electronic textures. In a concert the tone is set by playing pre recorded textural elements before the performance begins. I will build on these recordings with improvised chord structures using didgeridoos, udu drums and analog synthesizers chained through a series of audio processors. The set continues as a series of flowing ambient sonic spaces for about one hour. During the show the audience is welcome to move around, lay back, and zone out. The performance ends by blending the pre recorded elements that started the show with the gradual deconstruction of live improvisations. I tend to walk out of the performance area when I'm done and encourage the audience to leave the listening space whevever they are ready. It's a practice I have observed with other performers I greatly admire.
Preferred venues are art museums, living rooms, churches, or anywhere it's quiet and distraction free.
Since 1990 I have worked for public radio. Through this career I have been exposed to a number of recordings I would not have found otherwise. Along the way I have met and interviewed some of these artists that inspired me to record my own sonic spaces.
Recently I began to use MIDI technology to create splendid sounds. While I love my Juno 60, I have plunged into soft synth and digital sampler world thanks to Reason 3.0 None of my final works are contained in one program. The audio is processed, edited, and layered to other audio programs such as ACID and Wavelab. Using Lexicon outboard processing, VST plug ins, and Waves plug ins I contine to discover compelling surreal audio. Expect to hear more of it through My Space and other Internet outlets.
Currently I am combining my on line music interests with my other professional ambitions. I am seeking additional voice over work from any source, field production, and part time studio work. Have some work for me? Contact me.

Just Relax and Enjoy this Present Dimension

Playing in the room right now is Boards of Canads's work "The Devi Is In the Details" from their Geogaddi collection.  It starts with a speech sample "Just relax and enjoy this present dimension"...

The Sunao Sound Smells Like Fake Evergreen

Cycles of Sound Tell Private Stories

Rhythmic stuff is what bops our head.  The laid back cool varied head motion in a jazz club, the dizzying thrash from hard rock, and the circular motion we don't know we are doing to stretched ou...

Frame Drum Performance: Threshold Opened

After hearing Glen Velez's CMP solo CDs and Glen's work with The Paul Winter Consort I was locked into the amazing taps on the frame drum.  I didn't know much about the instrument but I knew I li...

Full Flavor of the Blue Sky

Seven years ago I began to appreciate the mid to late days of June.  I had never paid much attention to the length of summer days, but for some reason on the summer solstice in 2000 I finally not...

The Beauty of Dirt

Recently I am discovering harmonics through the virtual synthesizers mostly through Reason 3.0  The "soft synths" are as capable at generating pleasing sounds as an old stand alone analog synthes...

You Determine what is a Full Length Album

Given a choice you are very selective about which tracks on an album you hear.  I'm not going to pretend you want to hear every single cut I create so for my next set of music I'm not organizing ...
