Friends of Parrots Rescue & Adoption is always seeking reliable and dedicated people who are able and willing to open their hearts and homes by accepting needy parrots into their personal foster care. Many of these birds are in desperate need of sanctuary from fear of the unknown and loss of their familiar surroundings and "parronts." Will you be a volunteer in our foster care program?
Volunteers are also always needed to assist the organization in many other ways. We need people who will make house calls to interview new adopting applicants and house calls after adoptions take place. We need people to make house calls to individuals who must give up their parrots into the rescue system. We welcome those who would like to be part of our Adoption Committee and join in making decisions on the permanent placement of our parrots. For further information, please contact us. CURRENTLY SEEKING FOREVER HOMES:
WILLY- is a six-year-old Senegal. He's a nice little guy who steps up and down on command. Willy is lonely and needs a mom or dad or family who can spend some time with him. He would probably love to have a flock family.
KIWI- is a five year old Myers. She needs a parront who is willing to interact with her, since her former owner kept her in her cage most of the day. Kiwi is a wonderful talker with a quarky personality. She will tell you "good morning," and ask "whatcha doin". She is very intelligent and within the first few days with her foster mom learned to say, "hey baby".
BEPA & SOLSTICE- Are two year old sun conures. The owner would like them to go to the same home as they are a bonded pair. Both are tolerant of children, but a bit hand shy. Solstice prefers spending time with Bepa, and Bepa loves people. Neither bird has been sexed. If you are looking for two rambunctious and clownish characters, please let us know.

Now that I am home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked into my warm new bed.
I would like to open my baggage
Lest I forget
There is so much to carry-
So much to regret.
Hmm...There it is, right on top-
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave-
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough, for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you look at my things and take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage, to never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
