Meet The Restless – a New York City band on the rise. Well known for their incendiary live performances in the East Village club circuit, their compelling melodies, driving pulse, and dreamy heart-felt pleas of discontent have resonated with their countless fans – kids and adults alike.
With backgrounds in jazz, punk, pop and hip-hop, The Restless are accomplished musicians constantly on the move. Front Man/Guitarist/Songwriter Damon Daunno, lead guitarist Brandon Intelligator, bassist Theo Aronson and drummer Gregg Sulzer were introduced through mutual friends who recognized a common restiveness among the four. “We bonded immediately,” says Daunno. “We had all been playing for years with various bands and were sick of the sameness of it all. We were looking for something fresh – something incapable of reference.”
No lame gimmicks for The Restless. Daunno’s Jeff Buckley-fueled pop influences have matured into a unique new sound that defies easy description. “The best description of our music is probably . . . ‘restless,’” laughs Aronson. “Introspective with a backbeat, constantly searching for something new and different.” From Mercury Lounge and Highline Ballroom to the Knitting Factory and the historic Sin-è, the Restless have entertained and enthralled their countless fans with performances that are spontaneous and energetic, with enough cool-guy machismo to give Bogart a run for his money.
