About Me

Suburban Technology was born in the basement of Theo Aronson's home, outside of Philadelphia. It all started when Theo was a senior in high-school apprenticing with Eric Bazilian , local philly hero and guitar god. Bazilian introduced Theo to Pro Tools and that was the beginning of the end. Theo has been recording his own compositions since he was eleven years old. Starting out on two tape decks and bouncing one to the other and then moving up to his first multi-track machine, the Tascam 484 Portastudio. Next came the move to minidisk, the Yamaha MD8. Recording countless rock n' roll compositions and experimental music, it all sort of came together once Theo met Eric.
One day Bazilian was invited to play with the hip-hop group Subtle Ground (fronted by MC Kufie Knotz ). Because of a scheduling conflict, he couldn't play the gig and asked Theo to take his place as guest guitar player. Theo's first gig with Subtle Ground at the TLA went so well that Theo was asked to officially join the group. After playing with Subtle Ground for a year, Theo packed up his guitar and headed off to college to hit the books.
Over the years Theo maintained relationships with all the friends he met through playing with Subtle Ground. These relationships led to working with Philly's favorite turkish singer-songwriter Mutlu . He continues to collaborate in the studio with Kufie and sit in from time to time at local gigs. As time went on, Theo drifted away from acoustic hip-hop and began to incorporate more sequencing and composing stricly beats. This led to the birth of SubTech, Theo's hip-hop alter ego.
Whether working on hip-hop, metal, commercial production music, pop rock, electronica, or classical arrangements, Theo brings an incredible energy to any project.
Works in progress: Rehearsing with Damon Daunno for upcoming Demo EP to be recorded in August. Check out some of Damon's music on myspace at www.myspace.com/damondaunno Also still finishing some tracks with Kufie Knotz for his upcoming solo debut.
