Wrecking Day is made up of musicians from established Minneapolis bands including Deadfall, Downside of Truth, God out of Machine and Satanic Ballerinas, with a wide spectrum of influences ranging from Black Sabbath to Primus to Slipknot. The band came together in the spring of 2006, when DeMoss, Nelson and Winter decided to put together a project with two lead guitars that was more technical and heavier than recent projects while still incorporating hooks and melody into the songs. Nelson and Winter began writing music, jamming for days at a time. The chemistry was so natural that the songs practically wrote themselves. Chazz began writing lyrics and the songs began to take shape. Auditions for drummers began and the first drummer to show up was Aaron Cole. It was a perfect fit right off the bat, adding an extra dimension to the music. Finally, God out of Machine bassist Ryan Kaldahl joined up adding punchy, powerfull bass lines combined with Aaron's thunderous drumming. The lineup was complete.
Fall/winter of 2006 they went into Alingnment studios and recorded their 8 song demo American Sream. With 'No Prayer' being the first single, they wasted no time and shot a video for the song, and took the show out on the road. After opening up for American Headcharge and Godhead during a portion of the Can't Stop the Machine tour in the spring of 2007, they continued to open for other national acts such as Prong, Drowning Pool and Static-X.
With crushing guitar riffs and dual leads on top of a dangerous rhythm section- topped off with vocals that go from gutteral sceams to powerful melodies, (not to mention a live performance designed to knock you out of your shoes) Wrecking Day lives up to its name and is not to be missed.
