About Me

I live in South Austin and work in the music business, and that pays the rent. I book bands, work at concerts helping with security and as a stage hand, and sometimes I go on the road with bands( ZZ Top, Jack Ingram Alvin Lee, Tracy Conover) as a road manager or guitar tech. I also work with the "Hooters Desert Racing" team that races motorcycles in the Baja 500 & 1000. Another big part of my life is that in 1989 after almost getting a dishonorable discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard because of being a drunk, I decided to quit dinking and doing drugs. Now I hang out with other people who have also decided that drinkin' & druggin' did not work for them. I am not opposed to drinking or even a little pot smoking, but I have found that it just does not work for me. I make my living working in bars with bands. I do have a low tolerance for people who are sloppy drunk or "Tweakin'" on hard drugs. I will talk to people about my experience if they are interested, but I don't preach about sobriety. I also enjoy "Show Turtles"

My Interests

I love going out and hearing all the great bands that play here in Texas. I also am a car racing fan, but not NASCAR (except for Ricky Bobby). I am more interested in Desert Racing (Baja 1000), sprint cars, Indy Cars and Formula 1 racing. When I get a chance I lke to go swimming at some of the lakes and rivers in central Texas. I also enjoy sitting in my front yard drinking coffe with my dog "Laddie".

I'd like to meet:

Anybody that has something interesting to contribute to the world and maybe a nice girl that wants to share a cup of coffee with me.

Music:

I really like going out and hearing Texas Bands that play Roots Rock, Blues and Country. Bands like : Tracy Conover (who I work for), Jack Ingram (who fired me), Malford Milligan (who is in "Red Spade" w/ Tracy Conover), Chris Duarte, ZZ Top (who I worked for in 1994), Alan Haynes, Grady, Stephen Bruton, Troy Dillinger, Carolyn Wonderland, John Dee Graham, Billy Joe Shaver, Willie Nelson, and many others.

Movies:

I don't see many movies, I would rather spend my bucks seeing live music. The last 3 movies I have seen are; "Talledega Nights", "Life Aquatic", and "Friday Night Lights"

Television:

I only have the basic channels because I don't watch much TV. I do watch Jay Leno, The Simpson's, Sienfeld, My Name is Earl, ME TV (Austin music channel), the news and My roommate makes me watch Dr. Phil.

Books:

Seabiscuit, Angels & Demons, Divinci Code, The B.B. King Treasures, In Pursuit of Reason~The Life of Thomas Jefferson. I also like reading Dwell Magazine, Vintage Guitar, and any car magazines.

Heroes:

I admire a lot of people for what they have done, some are famous but many are just everyday people I have met who have done remarkable things in their lives.
