About Me

We are a 3-piece band of music lovers, based in Wimbledon, London. Our influences are... sound, sounds that we can make, sounds we could make and watching people who are excellent at their instruments! We met each other at school, through a mutual interest in music and art and formed PISTOLA in late 2003.
Girls in Green Shoes - Live Review:
Let me tell you a bit about Pistola. They are London based three-piece barely out of school, comprising of - Adam/Guitar vocals - Twin brothers - Will/drums and Matt/Bass/Sax. For a start they look great! But don’t let their looks detract from their astonishing musicianship. Is there another band of 18 year olds around who write and perform music to this standard? One can only take a stab in the dark at their musical influences. Pink Floyd? Definitely. Chick Corea? Yes. Muse? Maybe. Anyway if you want to see a great young band who don’t write three minute love songs or sound like the Strokes/Libertines/Kaiser chiefs/Franz Ferdinand then look no further. Their music is dark, mystic and heavy with amazing drumming, thunderous bass and a moody guitar. A song called ’Fences’ was one of my favourites. Eying the audience, I thought they would struggle to get their music through to some of them, but I was wrong and the cheers at the end followed by an encore proved the point. Educate yourself! Go and see Pistola. Even Sylvie would have loved them!
