About Me

***UPDATED*** 9/16/08

Let me start by saying this: The only way you'll really get to know me, or much about me, is to talk to me.
Reading this section (or my profile in general) will only give you something to start with. But taking the time to actually communicate with me is the only way you will get to know who I am.
That said, I'll continue telling you a little about me...
I'm a bit here and there, to tell you the truth.
I like all kinds of things, reading, writing, socializing, observing, running around and exploring, but also taking to time to reflect and consider.
You could consider me an introverted extrovert.
I find myself fascinated with "why". And many things that are a little off the main. I gain very little satisfaction in just being content with "just because".
Storytelling is a big thing for me, I've always been an entertainer. (I even used to have my own desk in the principal's office because of this... starting from Kindergarten.)
I hope to do something with it someday...
(The storytelling, not the desk in the principal's office)
I'm serious when the time calls for it, but prefer to have as much fun as possible. But, I have to admit, my humour tends to have a dark side to it.
And, sometimes I act a little... kiddish.
(Ask people who know me if I ever get tired of zooming around them with a grocery cart while making engine noises at the grocery store...)
I like many kinds of music, mostly classic rock, but there's always something new out there to discover, so I try to keep my ears open for something good.
I used to live like a rockstar, mostly when I was growing up. At some point I received a bill for it...
I've calmed down a little since. Not a saint, mind you, but calmer.
But still the fire burns...
I grew up in a house full of women. Six sisters and my mother.
So, I'm used to having women around. You could probably see this reflected in some of the friends I have, and the music I like.
Because I was raised by a coven of sorts, I respect women (it was beaten into me for fcks sake! :D), am fascinated by them, terrified sometimes, and always attracted to...
However, I tend to try and treat everyone with respect.
And no, I am not a softy. I just happen to have grown up with inside info that helped me in my wilder stages. *grin*
I tend to try and approach things with balance in mind. And I like spending time with likeminded people, but also like hearing other people's perspectives.
Different lifestyles, cultures, ideologies, and viewpoints interest me. Although, to be honest, I never feel quite at home anywhere.
Perhaps it's because I'm half Native (though I'm simply Native, end of story... or a mutt I guess). I feel blessed to be able to have seen the world through two different perspectives, but cursed to feel apart from all of it.
Lastly, for now, I tend to be a very closed/open person.
Which means, I am honest and open... with what I care to share.
If I don't want to share it, no amount of perstering me will make me change my mind.
Actually, the more you ask for, the less you will get.
Especially when it comes to photographs of me.
By all means, talk to me, ask me questions, get to know me. Just don't get pissy if I decline to give you everything you ask for.
There you have it. A place to start.
Just do like they used to do it in the "old days".
Talk to me to find out who I am.
I look forward to finding out about you as well.
Not enough?
Ask me again sometime.

My Interests

Music, Writing, Communication, Stories, Ideas, Movies, Thinking, BSing, Making people laugh and think.
Did you know?
Vegetarian: Indian word for "Bad Hunter"
I blog fairly often, about all kinds of topics, so please check them out and give me feedback, I like hearing people's thoughts about them.

Communication or storytelling has to be my main area of interest. This, obviously includes quite a bit of ground, and will probably lead to a small list of examples...
I also enjoy good songwriting, and would have to hand it to Peter Gabriel, David Gilmour, Tanya Donelly and Heather Nova just off the top of my head... All of them are wonderfully talented writers.
Good artists interest me as well.
I would like to fit into that category myself, but have no talent for it whatsoever. Even my stick figures look fake...

So, I try to find other ways to express some art...

One of the first prisons built in Minneapolis. The convicts kept escaping before they could finish it, so they stopped altogether.

I found this too interesting not to share.

As well as this snippet:

Oh... and sometimes I like weird or stupid sht, as evidenced by the videos further down, and some of the things I'll post in bulletins.

I'd like to meet:

GENERAL:
People who are interesting. I like meeting people who like to think, who are creative, and who like to communicate. I also highly value people with a sense of humour. If you have any of those traits, welcome, I am happy to meet you.

Attracted to:
If I had to pick a feature that I find the most interesting in the opposite sex, I have to say the eyes (then the face in general). I'm a sucker for women with beautiful eyes.
They say eyes are the windows to the soul, and I tend to find you can tell quite a bit by looking at someone's eyes. Sometimes it's passive information, sometimes it's active, but I find that looking at someone's eyes reveals quite a bit of info beyond just what they say and do.

A creative, intelligent mind has to accompany the physical features, however, otherwise the interest wanes.
The physical captures attention, the deeper aspects keep it.

A little space for sharing:
