Founded in 2005, RIDDIMCULCHAs nine musicians performing a mix of roots-and modern reggae, ska and rocksteady spiced up with dub and ragga elements. The lyrics have a slight political and sociocritical touch dealing with integrational problems, struggle for survival, criminalisation, paternalism, manipulated education and false friends.
Alongside their own compositions they perform some cover versions as "tributes" on stage.
RIDDIMCULCHAs classic reggae orchestra consists of drums, bass, two guitars, keyboard, saxophone, percussion, lead- and two backing vocalists. Frontman and songwriter Ben Robby is well known in the scene with "Mystics", "Robby Line" and several other projects. His togo-fan-anthem for the Football World Cup 2006 will never be forgotten. RIDDIMCULCHAs gigantic life introduction at the unicef charity concert in front of Cologne Cathedral followed by a gig at Togohouse, received a fantastic reception from the audience.
During 2007 RIDDIMCULCHA appeared at several top class events. Among others they shared the stage with Nosliw, Dr. Ring Ding, Ganjaman and House Of Riddim
