I'm interested in so many things and this is always changing...Personal growth is always at the top of my list. I'm always looking to understand people, myself, the world we live in. I'm also interested in learning more about the city of Atlanta...Jazz Clubs, Spoken Word events, where do all the truly "Grown and Sexy" people go?..lol
I'm always open to meeting new friends and aquaintances who will "vibe" with me. People who share similar interests.I'm very much single :) I'm not looking to "find" Mr. Right on MySpace...But, I did say I was open to new things right? :) I hope to meet someone special some day...I can't say what he should look like, how he should act, what he should do for a living or how much money he should make. What matters to me is how I feel when he enters the room...it's all about "the connection" for me.
I love all R&B, especially Old-School music from the 70's because it brings back such good memories. Right now I have Floetry, Robin Thicke, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder (Songs to the key of Life) and Jay Z's black ablum in my cd player. I love rap...everyone from Salt-n-Pepa, Run DMC, Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest to Talib Kwalie, Common, Mos Def (LOVE HIM), JAY-Z (didn't even appreciate him until The Black Album), and TI (he's just so darn cute). Oh and my Son is an aspiring producer and "hit maker" so of course I LOVE the music he creates :)
I enjoy anything that isn't too sci-fi and I don't do horror (what's the point?). My favorites are Love Jones (I watch it when I need to believe in love again), Love & Basketball, Dead Presidents, Boyz in the Hood, Best Man, Joy Luck Club, The Color Purple, Scarface, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, any Tyler Perry play/movie...too many to name.
I don't get to watch much TV but I make sure to record Oprah, Girlfriends, "First 48", 24, Nip Tuck, Weeds and The Wire (Oh how I miss STRINGER BELL!!!!!).
I read all kinds of books, it really depends on my mood and/or what I'm going through at the moment. I love Iyanla Vanzant and I think I've read all of her books (I still pull them out when I need to). I love anything inspirational but when I need to get away from reality a bit I read fiction.
My Mother. Who was the strongest, most dynamic woman in the world. My other heroes are people who have the courage to love, to be themselves, to stand up for the things they do and the things they believe in. I admire people who can accept and admit their mistakes, who can love people in spite of their challenges and faults.
