About Me

I'm an aspiring screenwriter (I know, who isn't) and have self produced three shorts that were premiered locally. I'm pretty active at Upstate Independents and recently became vice president.

My Interests

Movies, music, books. The usual stuff. I'm currently obsessed with the HBO show "Deadwood." Mostly I hang out at Pinto & Hobbs in Albany. It's a really cool bar that a lot more chill than any of the other bars in the Lark Street area. Suzie's is cool too.

I'd like to meet:

I like to meet new people. I generally try to find the positive in anybody. There aren't too many people I don't get along with.

Music:

The Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop, New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders, Television, Blondie, Joy Division, Johnny Cash, the Ramones, Rancid, etc. I like pretty much all old-school punk. For some reason that genre is the only one to really stick with me, even though I've bought hundreds of CDs over the years. I'm open to other music too, so I'm really not that picky.

Movies:

Big movie nut. Maltese Falcon (all Bogie movies in fact), the Third Man, A Touch of Evil. Damn near anything with Clint Eastwood (even Bronco Billy), but especially Dirty Harry, the Unforgiven, and the spaghettis. I love Hitchcock too, especially Notorious and Rope. Woody Allen is probably my favorite film maker of all time, particularly Crimes and Misdemeanors, Bullets Over Broadway, and Desconstructing Harry (his most underrated movie). I'm a big Tarantino fan. Alexander Payne is amazing as well.

Television:

The only broadcast show I watch these days is House, and maybe Medium. Sometimes Law & Order, but that one's going downhill. As far old shows, I really liked Barney Miller, Hillstreet Blues and Mary Tyler Moore.

Books:

The last book that I've read that really impressed me was "Earthly Powers" by Anthony Burgess. Margaret Atwood is a great author too. My last girlfriend actually got me into Jackie Collins. "Hollywood Wives" was hysterical.

Heroes:

Rosa Parks. I really admire that the woman never abused her fame. I can't think of any other heroes. There are a lot of people whose work I admire, but they are by and large reprehensible people.
