Combine that with an overwhelming willingness to spread the "Good News" of Jesus Christ to the masses, and you would have Paul's Anointed Mission. P.A.M. is not a band, it's a Holy Ghost inspired mission, forged from the life and death experiences of Paul Persley.Paul Persley is a gifted songwriter,producer, and arranger, who challenges the world to listen to his music and not be inspired to praise, clap, dance, or shout! Paul was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, where musicians and performers like The Jackson 5, Avery Brooks, and Deniece Williams flourished.Paul began playing the trombone at age 10, and quickly followed with the saxophone at age 11. At age 14, he began learning the contrabass, which lead to forming his own funk & R&B bands as electric bassist and vocalist. At age 16, Paul had become one of the Midwest's best Orchestra Contrabass players and was offered first seat in the Northwest Indiana Symphony.Paul declined that offer to pursue a career with his funk band "The Underworld". After two years of local shows and disappointments with the band, Paul started to develop as a songwriter and producer and moved on. Several years would pass as Paul would write and produce for many local R&B acts in Colorado, Illinois, and Indiana. After winning a city wide talent competition, with a song he had written for his hip hop/R&B group "The Swing Brotherz", Paul was introduced to one of the judges. To Paul's surprise, it was one of his childhood idols, Tom Washington a.k.a.(Tom Tom 2084) horn and string arranger for Earth, Wind, and Fire, Phil Collins, & Ray Charles. Tom Tom quickly took Paul under his wing in Chicago recording studios, teaching him the ins and outs of music business.As Paul continued to write , produce, and perform, his health would become an issue. Eventually diabetes, kidney failure, and an amputated leg would almost stop Paul's musical endeavors and almost take his life. Normally, these factors would stop most people, but Paul returned to his church upbringing. He asked for God's forgiveness, accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and was given a miracle four weeks later. On July 11, 2001 Paul received a kidney and a pancreas, from an anonymous donor. The transplanted organs changed Paul's life, and had given him a second chance. While healing in the hospital, the Holy Spirit gave Paul a mission in a vision. He saw Jesus healing him on a stage in front of everyone in the world. Jesus also gave him wings of strength to tell the nations about the good news. Paul accepted the mission in his vision, and that has been the purpose for his life and Paul's Anointed Mission, since that day.Paul also gives a great amount of credit to Fred Hammond, for his 1997 release, "Pages of Life Vol's 1&2", which helped to comfort his hospital stays. Paul says," Fred's lyrics spoke healing and rejuvenation into my spirit and I've recently had the opportunity to thank him personally."2008 is the new beginning for Paul's Anointed Mission!
