About Me

Born in São Paulo in 1981, Felipe began his motorsport career in microcarts at just nine years of age. A few years later he graduated to Brazil’s Chevrolet Class, becoming champion before making the move to Europe. In 2000 Felipe became the Italian Formula Renault Champion and took the European Formula 3000 Championship by storm in 2001. His many accomplishments catapulted him to the attention of the Formula One world and just one year later Felipe made his debut as an official Formula One driver for Sauber at Albert Park in Australia. After a year at Ferrari as test driver, Felipe rejoined Sauber as a race driver for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The Brazilian made a natural move back to Ferrari in 2006 and took two wins, three pole positions and two fastest laps finishing 3rd overall, followed by a 4th finish in 2007, where he won a total of 3 races in the season. The finale of the 2006 season saw Felipe become the first Brazilian since the late Ayrton Senna to win his home Grand Prix.
