Real Paranormal Music

About Me

REAL paranormal music! Using EVP from the graveyards of New Jersey and Philadephia! Symphonic horror with real ghosts...DARK ASYLUM's MALICE
2006 Arcane Creations"A strange and subtle stroll through the audible darklande... Suitably foreboding and never panders to cliche.""Orchestral and unnerving.""...makes atmosphere into an artform."In 2004 Rue Morgue magazine raved about The Terror Cycle, upstart orchestral project Dark Asylum's first venture into the Halloween Market. Now, in 2006 Dark Asylum's follow up to the 2004 debut retains the orchestral ambiance and neoclassical harmonies of The Terror Cycle (2004) and pushes the Goth-Orchestral genre into new territory. In 2004, Dark Asylum included EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon, also known as Paranormal Audio Recordings) into the orchestral mesh and in MALICE (2006) things have only become more terrifying. Not only is there a greater variety of EVP woven between the harmonies but the Russian Orthodox Rite of Exorcism! A real exorcism of an entity claimed to be a demon is highlighted in Ex Mortis. The dark poetry of Emily Bronte is seamlessly highlighted in "Scene from a Death" and the Rise of the Ancient One is central theme of the Tone Poem "Cthulhu Rises".Dark Asylum began recording MALICE on 6.6.06. in Haddonfield NJ (The namesake of the famed Haddonfield Illinois, fictional birthplace of Michael Myers, named so for Halloween producer Debra Hill's hometown!). The house the studio was built in has had a history of paranormal activities. When Dark Asylum was working with the EVP and exorcism during the composition process, there were several manifestations that halted recording.MALICE is longer, more aggresive and more disturbing than The Terror Cycle. 48 minutes and 19 tracks of pure unbridled mayhem and submerge the listener in a world of the paranormal, voices screaming from the other side and the cold dead sounds of those who clawed their way back from the dead. Both percussive and murkey, MALICE represents a more sinister, more serious take on the seasonal atmosphere CD. The thicker textures, eerie melodies and haunting orchestration of MALICE are perfect for a home haunt or professional haunted attraction. Dark Asylum's first release, The Terror Cycle, was played across the nation in cobweb coated front lawns and blood soaked haunted houses! Dark Asylum has taken the artistic composition of artists like Midnight Syndicate and combined it with the primal fear of real paranormal material putting Dark Asylum at the forefront of horror.Michael Pallante, the principal composer behind Dark Asylum, holds a degree in musicology from Rutgers University and has been producing music for nearly a decade. He does orchestration and production for many Philadelphia area bands and enjoys paranormal research in his spare time- Including capturing EVP and manifestations in his local Haddonfield New Jersey, where he has resided for the past 9 years.EARSUCKER says: Self described as REAL paranormal music! Using EVP from the graveyards of New Jersey and Philadephia! Symphonic horror with real ghosts, Dark Asylums musical composition is hauntigly terrific. My favorite track?
