“Approaching Zenith†formerly “This Day 4 Ward†has been playing in and around the Sacramento and Los Angeles area since early 2006. Comprised entirely of UCLA music majors they perform high energy Pop / Rock that is "guaranteed to impress". Their first EP, "A Face in the Crowd" was recorded only a few months after the band's inception and succeeded in producing immediate radio singles. Their first single, "Frenzy" received airplay by Monica Lowe and Keith Brooks of 100.5 Zone and Mark Gilmore of 98.5 KRXQ. A--Z gained even more success with their second single "She Said". That song earned them a spot on KWOD 106.5's "Sounds of Sac" and was added in regular local rotation. Approaching Zenith has appeared as a musical guest three times on ABC News 10's Sacramento and Company. Their first performance on air was so successful they were immediately requested to return for an encore performance. Sac and Co. continues to support the band and even re-ran their segment for the station's 4th of July special last year. Chris Macias of the Sacramento Bee has featured the band in his article "Moving Forward" that appeared in the Sunday Ticket August 2007. Macias described their music, as "just as good as anything you'll hear on commercial radio". Macias went on compare the bands energy and performance and christened the band as "the Goo Goo Dolls of Sacramento", a title that A--Z uses to this day. With their new EP on the way, their future looks extremely bright. The production talents of Jay Trammel of "Fat Cat Recording" gives the band both a melodic and acoustic major label sound they desire while with the management skills of Jack Knoester of "Power Up Management†they continue to play top live-music venues with the professionalism they deserve. Approaching Zenith is a surefire win for both band and business and an excellent live-music choice for all occasions.
