NEW SONG "LETS PLAY"

About Me

Born in Queens, New York and raised in Reston, Virginia, singer-songwriter Ama Atobrah has been performing in local bands and musical theatre productions since the age of 12. Currently in her fifth semester at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts Ama is spending this winter writing and recording new material that will be released late-January. The summer of 2007 brought outstanding new opportunities to travel and work in Toronto with her Berklee roommates Ali Slaight and Kelly Bartley to sing background vocals on Bill King’s tribute to Bob Dylan, The Saturday Nite Fish Fry's Dirt Road Blues CD, available on 7 Arts. The Roomies, as they are now dubbed, also recorded a version of “It Ain’t Me Babe” for the album. Late summer 2007 Ama worked with FremantleMedia North America, Inc., 19TV Ltd. and Fox’s primetime show American Idol for their exclusive two one-week-long sessions of Idol Camp for children between the ages of 12 and 15 located in Northfield, Massachusetts. Ama performed “I Am Ready for Love”, “Joyful Joyful” and “Grown” at the Idol Camp and the Virginia Idol vocal competition benefiting the PEATC in the previous year. In the summers of 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 Ama worked and performed at the Britney Spears Camp of Performing Arts and NOISE! with many music, film, theatre, and dance artists consisting of: Britney Spears, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC , country music star Taylor Swift, r&b star Kelly Price, and rap/ hip-hop production engineers Rico Wade and Jay Gruve. Winner of Fairfax county’s Superintendent Award of 2000 and former member of the two singing girl-groups J.A.M. and The Three Aces, Ama Atobrah is constantly performing and absorbed in her love for music.
