Ania Szarmach (Sharmi) - vocalist, composer, songwriter. She was born on February 12, 1978 in Starogard Gdanski, Poland. Here, she finished Primary Music School on piano andthen High School.She created her first band (“Against Logic”) in primary school and she was presenting her own compositions with this band during many ceremonies and singers’ contests. As an award of wining one,she recorded her first track in the age of 16. After finishing High school,she started studying vocal division on The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. She graduated with very high marks and she had already started working as a sideman on the second year of studying. Her voice can be heard on a dozen of Polish albums.
Her solo track “Obejmij mnie” which was reeased on mixtape “Swieta, swieta” in 2003 became a big hit. Till today over 500 thousands of people download this track from Wirtualna Polska (www.wp.pl).

In 2003 she started her collaboration with Rafal Olbinski (well known poster maker), which finished with a concert& projection in Skarpa club. Sharmi and her band could be heard in Na Zdrowie Jagielski show on TVP2.
Ania also recodred jingles for Radio Pin. She used to be a choir singer- she supported such artists as: Kayah, Edyta Górniak, Natalia Kukulska, Polucjanci, Kasia Klich and also Sarah Connor & Enrique Iglesias during their performances in Poland.
In 2003 she started her collaboration with Robert Olbinski (well known poster maker), which finished with a concert& multimedial projection of Olbinski’s posters in Skarpa club. Sharmi and her band could be heard in “Na Zdrowie Jagielski” show on TVP2.
Her band consist of 4 top musicians in Poland: Grzegorz Jablonski (JABCO)- keyboard, music director, Damian Kurasz- guitar, Piotr Zaczek (ZAQ)- bass, Robert Luty - percussion.

In August 2006 Ania’s song was qualified to a prestigious contest “Trendy”, which is a part of Top Trendy Festival. Her performance at this gig was very successful and people reacted with a great enthusiasm. What’s more, she took second place at Trendy Music Contest. Sharmi was also rewarded with statuette of Wirtualna Polska (www.wp.pl), as she took firts place in Internet voting. During the contest, Sharmi performed “Take it or leave it” with special guest Bartek Królik from Sistars. Second track was R Kelly’s “I believe I can fly”.
Top Trendy 2006
Ania’s debut album is simply tittled “Sharmi”. It was released on October 23th by Warner Music Poland. You will find there several tracks composed by: Sharmi, Jabco, Wojtek Olszak, Jas Onurfowicz, Marek Piotrowski and Bartek Królik (Plan B). Album containts both moody and acoustic songs mixed with modern r’n’b. Songs are both in Polish and English.The album was awarded two nominations for Fryderics "Singer of the year" and "New face of fonography" as well as a nomination for the SuperJedynki in Opole in categories "debut of the year" and"Album hip-hop/rnb"
During christmas break of 2006 Ania recorder a track " Delight of sharing" which has become musical motive for Coca-Cola. The song together with the meaning of this campain was a specil christmas invitation to "Bright side of life". The project included spectacular parties on fresh air in three big cities during which Ania presented her songs to the audience.
