So you want to know about The Doctor Mustard? It is a continuously evolving explosion of energy demanding to be set free from a prison of conformity. It is a little girl crying, a jaw breaking, and a taboo ritual that summons a clear sky. The Doctor Mustard is simply complex. A trio: guitarist, drummer, and vocalist bound together by perplexed looks and a will to inspire thought .
After countless fruitless attempts to unearth an apt bassist who would fit their style and attitude they were led to the conclusion that perhaps a bassist was not what they needed after all. With determination and patience they took on a quest to look for a different sound altogether and procure themselves a keyboardist. This never fell into place and two years passed without any additional musicians to add to their experimental ambitions . They developed a style that would finally snowball into an impulsive and enigmatic freak bellowing at the worlds insecurities.
The polyrhythmic and truly original drummer Casey Brown lives for music, creatively working with sound almost every day as a composer and audio professional. His passion has allowed him to realise hundreds of compositions, perform unforgettable shows and play in many diverse acts shaping an artistic contribution toward The Doctor Mustard.
The dissonant yet freakily melodic guitarist paul supinski, has had no choice but to create an invisible yet very audible bass sound. His many innovative effects and random influences are a huge part of what The Doctor Mustard is all about: a fast, intense and energetic wave of music based on hard work and dedication. His vigorous stretched accuracy and dancing fingers can be readily admired in his live performances.
Vincent Berardinucci is presently participating actively in three very diverse musical groups: a Pantera tribute band, an A Cappella group from Mcgill University and The Doctor Mustard. His incredible range and stage presence adds to the unusual and disturbing break down that embodies the Doctor Mustard's purpose. It is in this band that he truly exercises his various skills as a vocalist to his full potential . He is also the bands lyricist who writes on the subject of various unconventional and taboo themes such as death, sex, and superstition/religion.
Together these three experienced musicians have formulated some of the most diverse and electrifying music to come out of Montreal. People who experience The Doctor Mustard live leave amazed, puzzled, and wanting more. Recently this experimental band finished second place in La Virée Choasphonik, a battle of the bands organized by the Café Chaos team. This success has increasingly led them to play more shows in the Montreal area, write new material, and plan a summer tour.
