There she began to hone her vocal gift and leadership abilities. In the 90’s, she and two friends formed the Christian music group, Unity. The trio performed at local churches, where Keesha occasionally sang lead and helped arrange vocals.The year 1995 brought tragic and long-lasting memories for Keesha. In January, her father passed away. Seven months later, on the first day of her sophomore year in college, she was injured in a serious car accident. Although this accident could have taken her life, God had a different plan. Through many surgeries and months of rehabilitation, Keesha experienced emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical pain.Despite her many setbacks, Keesha persevered and completed her degree from Tennessee State in business administration. “I believe that everything I went through during that time of my life is bound to give someone else hope and determination to keep on,” shared Keesha. “It took a lot of prayer, but I can honestly say that nobody but God brought me through those situations.”Keesha Rainey, now a professionally trained, emerging gospel artist, has performed at various venues for charity benefits, concerts, weddings, and special events in and around Tennessee and Alabama. In 2006, she successfully released her self-titled CD, Keesha Rainey, which has received both press and radio exposure and in 2007, was one of the Female Artist of the Year nominees at the 2007 Gospel Music and Leardship Awards Show in Nashville, TN, in which she also co-hosted. Keesha has had the opportunity to sing backup and to open for renowned artist Debra Barnes. She has also contributed studio session work to numerous shows and CD projects for fellow artists.A self-proclaimed overachiever, Keesha is known for her effervescent smile and upbeat personality, indicative of her walk with God. She loves God, loves to laugh, and has a love for family, friends, and people.Known for the strong, yet melodic tone in her voice, when watching and listening to her sing, you can hear and see the passion she has for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
