Most of the art I create comes from my experiences as an African American. I often try to make political and cultural statements with my art. I work in acrylics, pastels, pencil, ink and charcoal. My primary style is abstract expressionist, but I also explore portraits and collage as well. In addition, I design custom-image apparel, which I consider wearable art. My influences include William Henry Johnson, William Cooper and Romare Bearden.
