Terry & Hewis Piano Duets

Free-form Piano Improvisations

About Me

Paul Terry and Danny Hewis met whilst studying music together at Christ Church University, Canterbury in 2001. From day one they became good friends and shared many musical interests, particulally in piano performance and composition. Both were classically trained, Paul on Guitar and Piano; Danny on Percussion/Kit and Piano; and found they could express themselves better in performance when composing and improvising simultaniously. After a spell in an experimental college-based ensemble together, along with other members of the music department, they decided to break off and meet up weekly in a music hall with two grand pianos to play free-form improvisations. These sessions were all recorded (thankfully!) and many deeply magical moments were produced. So sit back, close your eyes and sink into their beautifully expressive, hypnotic and colourful world..... ___________________________________________OTHER PROJECTS:__________________________________________ These duets have also been sampled and encorporated in the compositions of Paul Terry for film scores: ___________________________________________ The Long Kiss Goodbye
