Now to London's newest gonzo rock renegades The Lancaster Bombers . Not since the likes of The Like have outward appearances been such a true measure of the magic within. With their debut single sleeve cover designed by legendary folk-punk visionary / pisshead Shane MacGowan, it's little surprise that 'Cruelty Boxes' sounds like The Stooges and Shaun Ryder flailing around in a bucket of boiling ether.

Deep Beneath the city, something is stirring. At 1am, Camden four piece The Lancaster Bombers saunter onstage. Singer John - Paul wears ripped jeans, Iggy's torso, and an oversize pair of WW2 Goggles. He Screams "Fuckin' Wake up!" and launches into International Bastard Club.' The sound is a jagged mess - a brutal pile up of the Stones, The Sweet and The Happy mondays.

One aviation website describes the planes as the heavy boys that did the damage. The band that takes their name have a similar attitude to music. Although they come from the North London scene, playing their debut gig at the Boogaloo Bar in April 2005 and numbering Shane MacGowan and the Libs among their fans, they sound nothing like the effete post-Libertines wannabes doing the rounds.
