About Me

Hi guys! I'm Nicole and I am a freelance writer, and a scrapbook consultant with Close to My Heart, living in St. Charles, Missouri with my fiance, and our five children. We also have two furbabies a cat - Maple and a Shih Tzu - named Max.
I've been writing professionally (you know - getting PAID) for about eight years, but have been writing everything down all my life. Yes, a lifelong journal keeper, poet and essay writer.
I currently work for families.com writing on scrapbooking. (hmm...wonder why!) I also guest write on several topics regularly for families.com including frugal living, adoption, food, single parenting, divorce and education.
In between the content writing and other work I do, I am a scrapbook instructor and have been since 1998. I love it. When I finally made the transition to becoming a CTMH consultant, they of course went hand in hand.
I know it's probably boring to most, but hey - it's me!
My friends often ask why I am on MYSPACE, so I thought I should respond. Well - simply put - Because I can. No really it's because a total cutie of a friend of mine (Erin *wave*) is here, and I don't see her as much as I'd like - this is a great way to keep in touch and at least to see her in pictures! So that's why I'm here and plus I actually think it's kinda cool! I've met some GREAT people! Additionally it's a great place to network with my writer friends (*wave* Michy, Judith and Susan! - if you haven't "read" them yet - do it!)

The Notebook, Darkness, The Sixth Sense, I'm also addicted to teen movies: Sleepover, Legally Blonde, Princess Diaries, etc. (hey I'm a mom!)

Television:

I wish I had more time for TV. When I do get to watch it's usually, Law and Order: SVU, Veronica Mars, Ghost Hunters, Joan of Arcadia, Gray's Anatomy, Nashville Star and American Idol.

Books:

Anything by Nicholas Sparks, I love the man! I am also Jodi Picoult's biggest fan, and I adore her. I am also a huge Catherine Palmer fan. In addition, I tend to read a lot of books on writing. Chapter After Chapter is my latest read. I really love Torey Hayden's books - especially for teachers with special needs kids - they are incredible. LaVyrl Spencer is another terrific author - her books are clean, usually romantic and really sweet. OH! And scrapbook idea books and magazines are an absolute must!

Heroes:

GOD, My Mom, and Eeyore (he just keeps on going, even when the going gets tough - how can you not think he's a hero?)!
