Hometown Portsmouth native, Bless Picasso, is turning up the heat and stepping up the rap game. After a near brush with death in 2004, Bless is determined to make 2008 the year of the Picasso. This beast on the mic is actually a shy, humble man in person, classic hip-hop case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Coined the name Bless Picasso because as a child people were quick to say he was so fortunate due to his instant talented abilities and Picasso by life long friend Gerard a.k.a. Roscoe S.N.E.E.D. because he paints a picture that nobody else paints. He spits art; ergo, Bless Picasso, Peko for short. Bless has been in the rap game, seriously, for eleven years and has completed four albums with two in the making, Im back for the First Time and Im Back Again with Henny Sport, and another Black Pentagon album. Bless has also completed three mixtapes with a fourth one that will be available in the spring. Not too many artists have the privilege of being swooned by labels. With eleven years in the game Bless has jumped over a lot of hurdles and has accomplished many feats. The most recognizable accomplishment under his belt, him and his crew winning a Ruff Ryders competition in November of 2001 allowing for major record labels to really take notice of this cat. Besides winning the Ruff Ryders competition Bless has performed in just about every major club in Hampton Roads area as well as NC, NY, and OH. This dude has paid his dues and is ready to let the world know what VA hip hop is about. Bless is considered a hood legend. Everybody in the streets knows his name and he’s not to be slept on. With influential role models such as, Kool G Rap and Granddaddy I.U. he’s bound to be a different breed. Expect the unexpected! With producers such as Ntelek, The Oracle, Maddmen, Boneyard, Bloodwork Beatz, Born, and Kay Costin just to name a few, his future projects are sure to be bangers.
