Having been around for a minute, I've pretty much seen it all here in NYC. Born and raised in Queens and now living in Brooklyn, I am a true native New Yorker and I've watched the city change in my time. I've seen Brooklyn go from gangsta to posh. The Meat Packing District go from tranny hookers and beef to hot spots and Stella. Washington Square had dirt weed and skaters. Now its got video cameras and the NYPD. I watched the towers fall and I watched 42nd Street fall off (not blow up, don't get it twisted).
All these experiences made me the person I am today.
This is where I get my inspiration from... New York City. I think that's why playing hip hop music came so naturally to me over 10 years ago. It's more than a product of my environment, it's part of my soul. Over the years, having attended, played and thrown parties here with my homeboy Love On The Run my musical stylings grew further from breaks to house to electronic music and beyond. Nowadays, you can catch me playing Chicks On Speed at a GROUPE party, throwing down some Pete Rock and CL Smooth at Camoflauge, or getting all "stunna" like at Sutra for Chris Love.
But dj'ing isn't everything, you see. I've learned about balance. So if you did'nt see me throwing down last week you might of caught me acting in an off broadway showcase, or playing paintball with my team PAIN. I also own and operate a film and television production company, so if you see me toting a high-def camera on my shoulder, say what's up. Most of all, wifey keeps me balanced and happy these days... love you baby!
