I look up
where the stars reside
where the moon relates:

the name of my wife
into the storm I'll whisper
and an old turtle answers:
"Every sailor's heart will be stilled by this sea"
A dark red ocean is a weeping sea
and my barquentine sails beyond the rim
with sails shattered
and a helm fallen from my hands
I throw my wedding candles to sharks
and sing to an image upon the waves:
"Just let my boat sink like a brick
I'm a sailor with no gold in his chest
And should the moon whisper my name, smile a little"

where the darkness resides
I kiss your name
I wear on my forearm
I condone your thirty silver pieces

into the salty arms

like He blesses
because I'm a sailor, which doesn't bring luck

you don't sit with strelitzia and a bottle of wine on the peer

for a friend maybe
to go with azaleas to that old ale-house
where an old corsair over his rum
an ancient song sometimes sings.
No tears, my friend
drink with him
and sing that song

that there's noone
worth all the trouble
it's just the stars
that fade with a dying love.
