PG immigrated to Canada from Jamaica with her single-parent family when she was four years old. In grade 8 she was nominated to sing for her graduation. This inspired her to pursue her passion for music. PG also holds basketball close to her heart and if she is not in the studio, you could most likely find her on the court. Just like in basketball PG understands that versatility is important in music, and she shows her versatility in her ability to both sing and rap. Being that she is so passionate about music PG looks up to strong women of the past and present of R&B and soul who are known for their passion. Some of her role models include Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Mary J. Blige, and Whitney Houston. In her own work she is greatly influenced by hip-hop, R&B, and soul.
