At just 19 years old, Robyn draws inspiration from many of the people, places and things in her life. She loves her family, her friends and her church group. "I have a little piece of each of them in me. It is what makes up the fabric of my life". From these influences, Robyn has learned at an early age about being grateful and humble while still remaining strong. This is apparent in her personality and in her singing. With a 6 octave range, she sings not only with power, but also with passion and sensitivity; three elements rarely found in such a young artist. Robyn also draws inspiration from some of the great singers and entertainers of our time, including Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Beyonce. With Beyonce’s style and class, combined with Whitney’s dynamic vocal performances and Janet Jackson’s signature dance moves, Robyn is sure to become an unforgettable landmark artist of her own, just as those who have come before her. What drives and inspires her to sing is the opportunity for her do what she loves. She loves the feeling that music ignites in people and how it can evoke a memory, create a picture, or take you on a journey. She wants to be able to create those feelings for her fans. Robyn also wants to be a good role model for her little sister and others like her. Robyn has worked with producers Ryan "Alias" Tedder, (Timbaland, Jennifer Lopez) KIRV (Dr. Dr., Eve, Eminem), Epoppi (Beyonce, Missy Elliott). Ethan Willoughby mixed Robyn’s material plus has also mixed hits by The Black Eyed Peas, Butsta Rhymes, Fergie, The Rolling Stones & John Legend. Robyn’s venture lst year, was her exciting roles as Lucy’s Back Up Singer and Choral Girl in the 2006 Disney / Touchstone hit movie, "Step Up" and also sang background vocals on the Jive soundtrack. Recently, Robyn opened up for such major acts as Ciara and Mario plus she has appeared on Showtime at the Apollo where she was named a Top Dog Finalist. She then went on to win Best R&B singer at the R&B SOUL Talent Showcase (which was judged by New Edition), Runner Up / Best R&B Singer at the Musician Minds Publication Talent Showcase in Washington, D.C., and also won Best R&B Singer at the Roc-the-Mic Talent Showcase which she performed at the legendary Lincoln Theater in Washington D.C. Robyn feels that she will be able to make music that appeals to everyone; people of all cultures and races, backgrounds and influences. Music that is not defined but music that everyone can relate to and enjoy. She is not afraid to take risks and hopes that her music will be able to push boundaries as well as display her vocal talent. Robyn recently signed a recording contract with industry mogul, Ron Fair, Geffen Records. "I’m my own worst critic. If Im not giving it my all, then whats the point? Entertaining is what I love to do. It is in my blood. There will always be hard work involved, but I welcome the challenge. Bring it on!"
