There isn't much to the mystery of cryptoverba. A new philosophy of under-pronouncing words in smoky bars with bad juke boxes. I go out to places: to read books, to speak, to make absurdly dramatic phrases.

My Interests

I enjoy reading at bars. Writing at coffee shops. Talking cryptoverba, and all things fortean.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who will keep me interested talking about something I didn't previously care about. Someone who will make fun of my use of archaic slang. Someone within walking distance of my apartment.

Music:

I like singers with bad voices and interesting lyrics. I like Soul, Motown and punk rock.

Movies:

I watch a lot of movies. One time I watched Transformers the movie and Citizen Kane in the same day; if you know why that's amusing, we probably like the same stuff.

Television:

I don't watch T.V. much anymore. Though that night court program always was a hoot.

Books:

Here are some things I enjoy: Bukowski, Kerouac, Yossarian, Gaiman, John Kennedy Toole, Herbert, Fante, Sedaris, sidewalk chalk, Salinger, Ginsberg, church signs, Douglas Adams, sugar packets, Heller, Pratchett, Zelazny

Heroes:

Anyone from TEDtalks. Ron. Fez. Anyone willing to admit they practice alternate history. This man I saw smiling the other day. Anyone who remains curious enough to ask. Cryptoverbalist.
