Demand for the music is looking good!! Great support from DJs all around the world and all continued support appreciated. In 2008 we will continue to grow and strengthen roster and repertoire. We will be espeically looking out for a good live act able to get their own gigs but looking for a company to get the music online and put forward for all manner of opportunities.
So we are VERY excited with some unbelievably fantastic music that will be released in 2008 - check out FITE NITE from Nogoodnik (www.myspace.com/nogoodnikbeats) , SNOW JUNKIE from Jedeye, MONEY SHOT EP from Recycler (www.recycler.free.fr) !
JEDEYE (Genius from the north! Raw gritty leftfield dance mixing electro, techno, breaks to create a unique powerful sound. Attracting a massive underground following). Jedeye continues to be consistently voted in the top 5 electronica artists on number one music and with fans that include Junkie XL and Mrk1 prospects are looking good. Find Aquaboogie on the new Fantazia DVD!!
RECYCLER (tribal sweaty beats:- imagine the Chemical Brothers playing football in the park with African Headcharge - the best live act I have seen in years). Dancing Feet is already proving to be a hit on the radio.
YODA MANDALA (more genius, imagine all the best drum'n'bass from the from the '90s like LTJ Bukem and Photek but with bits of Kruder and Dorfmeister thrown in as well - even classical music gets sampled and mixed to create a unique masterpiece)
Although Kube is new, the idea behind Kube has been fermenting for many years. Suzie Wrennall, founder of Kube says: "I chose to work in the music industry because like so many other people on myspace, I am passionate about music. I tried to be sensible (studying languages at university) but then got sidetracked whilst living in Rome - i did learn how to use a theramin and also how to play guitar (badly!). I wrote some songs, came to London and played badly in a couple of bands
Realising that my talents lay elsewhere ie promoting and selling music (channelling music to both retail through licensing and distribution deals, and licensing for other purposes eg premium/synch deals), I crossed the line to the other side. From the glamour of the MCPS, to legal admin at Mushroom, to business development in CD/DVD manufacturing, and head of sales and digital at a large independent, I cut loose and went free lance in Spring 06. To support Kube I also work as sales director at One Media Publishing.
Kube Recordings is selfish in many ways in so much as it is music that I love and I will release it whether or not anyone else likes it. "
JEDEYE is the first artist to be signed to KUBE. An incredibly talented artist from Huddersfield. As i have mentioned above, Jedeye throws most musical genres into the sequencing spinner - you can find hints of electro, breaks, grime, funk, hip hop and techno all working together. The end result is a raw powerful sound, with little comparison.
A special thanks to Earl 16 for lending such a great voice to the RECYCLER track 'True Lovin' - a truly great track which will be released asap!
First digital releases from Kube Recordings - Jedeye's outstanding debut release AQUABOOGIE, Recycler's acclaimed third album MASSA BOOM BOOM and DANCING FEET EP, and Yoda Mandala's chilled genius debut DEVINE INTERVENTION. These are all now available from www.kube-recordings.com/shop and as welll as itunes, Beatport, Trackitdown.net and many more.
