I'm a 27 year old musician from Ayr, Scotland but now living in Leeds. I have Cystic Fibrosis and although it mainly affects the lungs and causes breathing problems, I try not to let it get in the way of what I love doing.
I've been into music for as long as I can remember but have been recording seriously for about the last 6-7 years.
One highlight was playing at the RASS2002 festival in Germany, where over three days, 140,000+ people attended. Since then I've made several trips back recording quite a lot of tracks in the process, mainly at westwood studios in Padaborn.Quite a lot of my songs were recorded in my spare bedroom in which I recorded every instrument including vocals/backing vocals myself. As I'm sure you'll agree they sound a bit patchy in places but I think they still sound pretty good against the studio recordings.
Although its mostly indie/rock music I play, I have also produced a lot of dance/trance music that I have currently started work on again.After what seemed like endless years of presenting karaoke all over the place, I decided to take a step out of what I knew I was good at and into the unknown world of the music industry. If only I knew how hard it was going to be back then!!
I already had a guitar but never took it seriously so it was always just stuck in the corner of my room, until the day I decided I was a musician..
Since then I went to a few music shops and bought beginner books for gutarists and just tought myself how to play. After many extremely sore fingers later, I could eventually string a few chords together and wrote my first song. Since then I've never looked back.Although many musicians will say that its one of the hardest proffesions to try break into (and they'll be right) its also been one of the best things I've done. Its given me the oppertunity to play some great venues, jam and gig with some of the most tallented bands there is to offer.Now I just enjoy writing the odd song here and there and listening to some of the great unsigned tallent you find on here.Oh yeah I'm also known in the online world as muzicman.
