the alps consists of two musicians, Paul & Al, who have found a strong bond in their varied musical influences ranging from Country, Mowtown, Rock, Alternative and the Blues. Together they combine the 'classic' with the 'new sound & technology' to produce a fusion of sound that is inherently thealps.
Paul and Al have known each other for many a years and have separately been in a number of bands playing clubs, bars, Odeon venues and festivals accross the UK & Europe playing supports to the likes of The Senseless Things, Three Colours Red to Embrace before finally getting together and forming thealps in 2001.
In their spare time they have recorded/produced for artists Delakota, Mankato, Morgan Nichols (The Streets, Muse, Gorillaz) as well as industry labels Ministry2, The BBC and Playstation.
These experiences has helped Paul and Al to play, record and produce all the materials in their self entitlted EP 'the alps' and the forth coming album 'Natural'.
