About FRODE FIVELs new album "A kid is just a kid"
The new Frode Fivel album is NOW OUT in stores all across Norway! It has received the title "A Kid is just a kid", and it is another fabulous album from one of the countrys most exciting songwriters. As you remember, his previous solo album was hailed by critics and called "a masterpiece" by Norways largest radio station for new music - NRK P3..
The reviews for his new album have been just as enthusiastic, and called "one of the best rock albums of the year"!
Fivel has created this album together with his amazing band of bearded men, consisting of Magnus Abelsen (of EPA) on guitar, Mikael Lindqvist (organ wizard for Dum Dum Boys + Sivert Høyem and the volunteers), and Tommy Tokyos rhythm section - which consists of Fredrik Brarud on drums, and Andre Solli on bass. These guys are some of the best of what this country has to offer, so DO NOT miss out on the chance to catch this live...!
We will never know for certain if Frode Fivel REALLY has wrestled the cobras of Zimbabwe, made music with a Maroccon guerilla troop, horse whispered with the donkeys of Gothenburg, or swam across the Themes faster than any indierocker before him.. but dammit, we know he as made a damn classic of an album with "A Kid is just a kid". Cafe Superstar Recordings is an indie label located in Fredrikstad, Norway. Musically there is an obvious focus on indie pop, but in all variations, from the electrosoul of SPLAXXTER WATTS, to REMINGTON SUPER 60s easy listening "Burt Bacharach on casio" 60's pop, to SAFARIARIs danceable electronica via EPAs summerafternoon in the sun laidback indie pop, to the experimental yet pop catchy tunes of FRODE FIVEL.
As Cafe Superstar is located and was founded in Fredrikstad, it focuses on the music of this town, and all its current artists are Fredrikstad natives. Remington Super 60 has been having countries such as Japan, the US, Spain and Thailand as their priority markets since they started with their debut release "Pling 2001", while both EPA and Safariari have been released in countries such as Germany and Japan. Frode Fivel has toured all over Europe with his "Hello Goodbye",
and Splaxxter Watts is recieving interrests from all over the world for their debut release "The Shakeout" (2006).
