.........At a time when Hip Hop is experiencing a need for style reinvention, artist Qued steps onto the scene with a dynamic new sound and originality.The Alexandria, Virginia native Qued, born Myron Guthrie, was born to a musically talented family and at the early age of five began playing the drums. By age twelve Qued had learned piano, string instruments and music production using MIDI programs. When a family friend offered Guthrie an apprenticeship to help hone in on his skills, Guthrie advanced his skills and by the time he had turned fifteen, was producing music for local recording acts for an array musical genres and spinning records in local nightclubs.Looking for new experiences, Guthrie relocated to San Diego in 1997 where he continued to produce music. This caught the attention of Don Lithgow, owner of DML Studios who offered him an internship as the studio manager, in house producer and engineer. Along with this opportunity, Guthrie had a chance to work with independent and major recording artists. By 2001, ready to take on New England, Guthrie moved to Connecticut and began his first self- produced film, Underneath Right Now.The biographical film followed a limited release of his album, which shares the same title. The film aired locally and was critiqued by The New Haven Advocate. That same year, Guthrie composed and produced "Blue In Between", featuring Pop Artist/ Actress Leah Jediny. The song was added to the soundtrack for the film "Business Trip", produced and directed by Mark Mascolo. Guthrie also performed at the Third Eye Open Hip Hop Festival in Boston, Mass., which yielded a crowd capacity of 3,500 before going on to work at Holla Back Recordings. Most recently, Guthrie performed as an opening act for Jim Jones at the Webster Theater. Currently, Guthrie is managing the production of a new album entitled, " To Whom It May Concern ", a compilation featuring independent and unsigned artists as well as clothing and his syndicated internet radio show " quedUpRadio ". At a time when Hip Hop is in thirst for something different, Qued presents listeners with art and expression that is original and cutting-edge.My World Visitor Map!
