KILLMENOC

in spring 1998 the pretty town of rostock saw a meeting of five young musicians with the intention of founding a band. due to a lack of musical inspiration and success they soon decided striking different paths. remaining of this project, the drummer-girl anke, the guitar-player steffen and johannes as the keyboarder continued with jana as a new singer. in autumn 1998 the first songs arose from this formation already sounding a little bit like the actual band killmenoc. for lack of time and some differences the two girls left the band in spring 1999. anke kept with the band and manages it nowadays. in the following months a number of female and male singers rised to the challenge becoming the band´s vocalists. here we want to thank them and the other previous members for their efforts. in autumn 1999 they found their drummer philipp and when jana returned to the them in the beginning of 2000 the band was nearly complete. a few weeks later the bass-player peter joined the band and a number of songs were written during this time. in autumn 2000 the band had their first concert at the popstudio in rostock with a repertoire of seven songs. because they decided very spontaneously to participate in this event a name had to be found quickly. this name escorts and haunts the band to date. peter had to leave rostock and the band job-related in spring 2001 and was replaced by herr schmidt in these times. so the band got its actual occupation, but not for a long time. philipp went to africa for eight months and had to be replaced by bertin. in january 2002 the programm included 14 tracks and they decided to produce a demo-production. six tracks were recorded in the blue-hospital-studios in rostock with dirk schlecki huckstorf as sound engineer. the studio work was successful and we decided to release the six songs as a small album under the title the right way which is sold out. philipp was reintegrated in may 2002. the evenings of autumn were filled with the work on new songs and on a new jam-hall. the year 2003 brought the band some success in a number of live-shows. steffen and his girlfriend doreen received a nice daughter and for a few months joachim played the guitar at the live shows and brought in some great ideas. in 2004 some new songs were recorded wich will be released together with some older material at the end of the year. in autumn the band will perform their first concerts outside germany, in france and latvia, what stands for a new step forward in the band´s career. to be continued
