Hello!

About Me

I'm a historian and non-fiction writer. I write about various subjects including diaspora, gender, Black history, Caribbean history, Jewish history, and am very interested in Grenadian history and culture, which is part of my own heritage. I've also recently started researching LGBTQ history in the UK. Last year I had a book published called 'Connecting Histories' (Kegan Paul), which explores and compares Caribbean and Jewish experiences and memories of migrating to Britain. For more info, see here.

I love music and listen to soul, Caribbean folk music traditions, alternative country/folk, and indiepop - Belle and Sebastian, the Besties, Tindersticks, the Shangri-Las, Marvin Gaye, The Emotions, Stevie Wonder, Francoise Hardy, Broken Family Band, Townes Van Zandt and loads more. when i make it, my fav place to go to dance is an amazing club night called 'How does it feel?' also recently spend lots of time going to poetry and comedy nights.
