Hostia We're a black metal band based in Melbourne Australia originally know as 7MinuteMetal. 7MinuteMetal was a basic power metal band that thrived on big riffs and catchy rythems, head-lining many gigs at The Green Room, Tote, Greyhound, DV8 & The Pony. After a falling out between the singer(Brad) & drummer, the guitarist(graeme) and brad descided to leave behind the basics of 7MinuteMetal. After many hours trying to find our neich we recuited Graemes brother Lachy, being taught by Graeme we knew he had the ability to step up to the plate with the complexities we wanted to acheive. From this point on we became Hostia, no longer basic but now a brutal Black Metal Band, with our lyrics based around the battle between Satan vs God. We then hit the studio for many months writting new material and defining our sound. With Graeme writing the majority of the music with everyones imput to shape it into something we all are happy with. In the begining we only had a drum machine because finding a good and committed drummer was harder then expected. We then found Kylie who adds many demensions to the band. She is a tallented drummer, loves her metal and is committed to our cause of creating brutal satanic music. To compliment the sound produced by Graeme and Lachy playing seven-string guitars, Kylies dynamics on the drums and Brads vocals we now have Lachlan (yes another lachy) playing a five-string bass. Now the band is complete we spend many hours in the studio defining and mastering our music, creating the deep satanic sounds that you know as Hostia.
