Life certainly has changed for me over the past 6 months. I went from being happily single with one grown child to being ENGAGED!!! Getting married...me! The anti-marriage gal...now madly, deeply, completely in love with someone I've known for most of my life & now have 3 kids & 2 cats!
Ain't life grand??!! The love of my life waltzed back into my world about 6 months ago...Scott. Could I be anymore blessed...he is MY perfect mate. We have a relationship unlike anything I've ever experienced.
WARNING! If you don't like a great love story, then stop reading here!! I didn't think it was possible to have such deep feelings, attraction, and be so much in sync with another human being. I now realize that I've never been in love before now. How is that possible for a 44 year old woman? I dunno...but I thank God each & everyday for this bliss.
Scott popped the question on Christmas day, after a fairytale morning opening gifts with the kids. He chose the most beautiful, heartfelt words...brings tears of joy to my eyes everytime I think about it. Most definitely the single happiest moment of my adult life, outside the birth of Courtney. OK no more details, cuz the rest is private!!
The strange thing is that we are from the same hometown - Hickory. Went to the same high school, lived within blocks of each other for years but never anything romantic...until now! We happened across each other & started chatting as friends. The rest is history in the making.
OK here's the part that has to make you smile...I used to be his babysitter!!! That's right...babysitter! Well technically I babysat for his 2 younger brothers for a few years & he just happened to be there.
And the cherry on top is his family. I adore them & always have. They are wonderful, great, kind people. I feel like I'm at my own family's house when I'm there. It's great to see all the boys all grown up with wonderful families. They have welcomed me into their world with open arms & remind me that I've ALWAYS been "one of the family".
Am I the luckiest gal in the world? Well if you know me, you KNOW that's not the case. But this time, I got the checkered flag & the big trophy.
I treasure my new life & am thrilled that my beautiful daughter Courtney is a huge part of it. She has become a wonderful big sister to two 2nd graders. She is so full of life & happiness, doing VERY well in school, & has a big photo shoot this weekend for her new clothing line. 21 & has the life by the balls!! You gotta love it!!
My 2 little ones, "Digit" & HH are 2 more blessings. What beautiful, wonderful, loving, thoughtful children. They put a smile on my face each & every morning & warm my heart like I haven't experienced since Courtney was that age. How did God know that I really wanted more children, deep down inside? He made it possible for Scott and I, and our new family of 5 + 2 cats.
