Growing up in the San Francisco bay, Daniel Wright started playing guitar and writing songs when he was eleven years old and has never stopped. He has always been in music projects that are reaching for new sounds and improving old ones. Now, for the first time, Dan feels that he has everything possible in both a band and his music - it just keeps getting better.Upon taking a step back and listening Wright can be overwhelmed: "I am honored and humbled to be playing with the guys in this band. Sometimes in rehearsals I will step out, close my eyes and listen to what they are playing over my tunes, and I can't believe I get to put my name on it."About the individuals in the group Wright explains "Haggai Cohen Milo is my bass player. This guy is so amazing, the last time I went to a show of his, I couldn't even talk to him for hours afterwards without bursting out laughing and crying. He is also helping me with the direction of the music. Patrick Brusil, my other half, triples on voice, cello, and tenor sax. Matan "The General" Chapnitzka takes care of most solos in the set. The guy pours out so much emotion into the sax he usually looks like he is going to collapse after a solo, and sometimes he does. Mike Calabrese has realized my music on the drum set faster and more accurately then any drummer I've played with. And Dov Manski is an insane be-bop, swing, and avant pianist, in training to be the psychedelic analog synth pop music mastermind."Daniel Wright's World Collective is currently gigging all over Boston and neighboring towns such as Gloucester, Salem, Cambridge, and Brookline. They just came off an 18 day tour of Northern California that took them from Santa Cruz, through San Francisco, all the way to Nevada City.
